Yes, it’s time to blog about Europe.
I know, it’s unclear who asked the question in the first place: Will you ever blog about your trip to Europe?
Yes, I say. Yes, I will. That is my answer. It matters not who asked the question. The answer is scrawled on the pages of a floppy red notebook the size of a small waffle. Coffee stains mark every other page. Others look old and yellow, like papyrus.
Penciled on page one is the cheeky phrase: Europe is back in my bloodstream, scribbled like someone who hadn’t been there for years.
On page two are exchange rates for the British pound sterling vs. the U.S. dollar; the same for the euro on another page. Elsewhere are phrases that were purely utilitarian: Rue Legrange, Villa Royale Mounsouris 144 (Rue de la Tombe Issoire), K-West, Shepherd’s Bush; Bus 62, Direction: Porte de St. Cloud, Stop: Comvention Vaugirard.
Culled from these pages are random notes for the following blog entries. After much demand they are now ready for public consumption. Actually, there was little to no demand. But public consumption there will be.
Here are the working titles for entries in the near future:
Churchill Arms (The Beer Prayer)
The Eurostar
I Took a Nap at Shakespeare & Co.
Notre Dame
God in a Clamshell
Old Roma & The Case Against Gluttony
This list may change. It probably will. But those are the working titles. Now I just have to decipher the words in my little red notebook.
Stay tuned ...
Count me in for all the reading fun.
